Okay, okay, I know you've read all of this before and it's been too long since I blogged, (but that's only because blogger sucks!!) , but I'd thought I'd give it to you from my side.
So, Dawn, Mom, Manny, Avery and I headed off for a girl's only getaway this past weekend.
It was very fun, and we all got a little something new for ourselves. I bought the kids new snowsuits, among other things.
Avery had a blast and ended up getting all dolled up in an evening gown complete with wrap, and new calf high boots!! She looked adorable, and I think she really enjoyed shopping for her first time!!
We took off for the community production of CATS and it was really great. I had told Avery that it would be a play with some singing and music in it. Not that I'd seen, it, but I was guessing. So about twenty minutes in, she says to me, "so far it's lots of songs, but no play yet..." Haha. So funny. Actually we ended up leaving at intermission, after an hour of singing cats, but It was a fun time and I'm glad we went. Avery has been raving daily about how much she loved it. A couple of hints if you are taking kids to a show, though.
1. Go to the matinee. Our show started at 8pm and because Ave was so tired, we left early. In this show it was alright, but in a play that had a more intense story, that really would have sucked.
2. Get closer seats. We waited too long to book. We could still see, but it was with definate neck craning.
3. Bring a booster seat. The theater chairs are not nearly high enough. Ave had to sit on my lap to be able to see well. Then I couldn't see!! Ah well, it was worth it.
Anyway, we did the waterslides and tried out each pool at the hotel, ordered in, watched the stars dance on the boob tube, and had a really fun time laughing at each other all the way!!
I am so thankful to my man for letting me go, and thankful for so many women in my life that I love to spend my time with!! Thanks, guys.
