hey all, once again, apologies, but if you read my last post, you can see what I'd been doing all week. I'm happy to say I survived!! However, things keep piling up. I am working hard at being strategic and not overwhelmed!!
We've been enjoying another week of warm weather, and Ryan currently has the three older kids out for a family ice fishing day!! So far they haven't caught anything, but are having a fun time!! Seth and I are home, due to his not feeling very well. He's been running a fever for the last day or so, and sleeping a ton! Hopefully he'll rest up and fight off the bug!! He sure is cute!!
Had fun in Prince with Emma, scored a couple new tops from Value Village!! Yahoo!!
Took two sets of pictures for friends yesterday, which was fun, and rewarding too.
Dyed hair for two pretty ladies last night, also very fun!!
Pried baseboards, washed walls, stripped a border off, and painted one coat of paint on a kitchen, must complete tomorrow.
In general, things are great. I am struggling a bit as I have numerous (and I mean numerous) friends going through some pretty big crises right now. Much bigger than just not working. My heart is just aching and breaking. I am hopeful in all circumstance, but I tell ya, it's work to give it over to God. I guess other than being a listening ear, there is really nothing I can do anyway, except to pray. It sucks, though, seeing people hurt. It really does.
So this week.... well, I don't know yet. Hopefully a little more visiting, relaxing, and housework!!

This might be a bit harsh, but I asked my sister once how she copes with her job (dispatching for 911-hearing murders and child abductions etc). She told me that on her way home she thanks God that all those awful things she heard on the other end of the phone aren't her life.
It's hard to see people hurt, but doesn't it make our own problems seem small?! Sometimes perspective helps, and we sure are blessed.

I am glad that you can be a listening ear and a help to your friends in need. It is hard to do but it is a blessing to know that there are friends like you who care. I just wanted to let you know that I will continue to uphold you in prayer too, I am here for you too.

I have some issues with the 'thank God it isn't me' idea, but in a similar fashion, I use those times to pray protection against those things happening to my family, in addition to praying over those struggling.
