Better Late Than Never!!

Okay so it's been forever- Again!! I have many excuses, and I'll explain them all!! Lol! If you still check in here, I'd love a comment so I should continue to make time for the blogging!

Excuse number one- Ryan has gone away. No he hasn't left me, (I'm way to hot for that to ever happen! AH HA HA HA HA!! SNORT!!)- but his EI ran out and thus the money was not to be found in or near our small town. So he travelled to the land of Far Far Away (Edmonton) to find work. Why so far? You ask? Well- his parents live there, so he can live for free- God bless them dearly, that is the only way we are surviving right now. I knocked back all of our payments as small as I could, while we continue to wait for that first paycheck. (His EI ended Jan 21).

He got a job at Leon's which is a furniture store, and he is a kick but saleman. He really likes it, but it is a strictly commission job, which means that the other day when he sold only an end table on his 12 hour shift, he brought home a whopping $7.00 for the day. Yes, I said $7.00. And yes, I am sick over it. He has suddenly become an optimist (could be cause he likes the job?) and he sees how much 'potential' there is to be made, but I gasp on each and every bad day. That said, he has also had some days where he brings home almost $200.00 dollars in one day. So (big sigh of relief) maybe we'll be okay. It's a whole new level for living day by day, which I thought I was doing already!! Okay God- I hear you!!

So... he is away, and I am mothering the fabulous four on my own. Well, with help from my parents and my brother and sister in law. Praise God for them, because I don't think I could do it otherwise. They are consistently being begged on for babysitting purposes, each time I need to do something with only a couple of the kids!

I am so tired at the end of each day that I go to bed soon after the kids, following a general tidy up. So there is no blogging time at night.

I used to have time at 'nap time'. The magic hour when Seth would sleep, and Emma would be in her afternoon kindergarten class. Now Seth sleeps only every 4th day, it seems.

Even when he was napping, I decided that if I was ever going to write the book I've been dreaming up for a couple of months now, I'd have to conciously make time to do it. So i did. The magic hour, of course. So I would write for an hour and then tidy the house again before the four were home and or awake again.

*notice I always say tidy- NOT clean. Clean is a bad , bad word, that only can hurt my feelings and make me feel inadequate. Tidy- that I can aim for!!

Since Seth stopped napping, and Ryan went away, I've not even been writing my book. It is so very sad. Ah well, maybe I'll get a second wind.

I am still working at the video store, although I don't know for how much longer. They will keep me, but again, I call on my family to 'babysit' until 10:30 pm when I get home. It's not worth it to have to pay a babysitter, but I really hate to use my family favours for work, too. Ugh. Who knows what to do? Not me.

The kids are all wonderful. Seth is the cutest thing ever, and gets away with pretty much everything because he is the last. Really. I'm not kidding. One of these days I'm going to have to start parentin him!! Lol!

Okay, so I really need to go get something done. I'll stop by here and let you know a bit more fun stuff soon, and post some pics too!! Hugs all- and remember

LET me know if you were here!!!

Hi Char --

I look for your blog always. Ever since Shannon and Jarrett lived in Mackenzie - I follow your blog and Dawn's and Tanya's.
So I was happy to see you "report in".
I hope and pray that your situation improves and that you and your husband and children are together again soon. I think of everyone in Mackenzie and how sad it is that your beautiful little community suffered such nasty blows. Very difficult for the families.
Shannon and Jarrett are doing much better and their little Jordan is beautiful and happy. Praise God for that.
I will send prayers your way each time I think of you and others in your position.
So keep communicating!
Shannon and Jarrett still miss the people of Mackenzie.

Prayers from Shannon' Mom

Hi! I'm a lurker, but I love reading your blog. Wish I could do some babysitting for you, but it's a little too far. I'll pray though because I know what it's like to parent with a hubby away!

I do check your blog on a regular basis, to see how all of you are doing. It is great to know that your family is always there, in thick or thin(as the saying goes).Whatever would we do without them????.
Times are tough for a lot of folks, but we seem to manage somehow to get through it. Hang in there. Good things come to those who wait.
Thinking an praying for you.
