Your Undercover Boss

I watched an episode of Undercover Boss on Netflix today. If you haven't seen it, the premise is that the big head honchos of Huge corporations go to work at entry level positions to see how the company runs- in the trenches, so to speak.

The 'boss' is put into three different locations, working different jobs under different trainers or management.

They try to bookmark issues/ work habits/ customer relations so in the future it can be dealt with on a wide scale.

My favorite part is at the end of the show, when the boss reveals himself to the very ones who have been training him.

He offers rewards, incentives and often donations to those who have worked diligently under him, and his company.

I bawled my eyes out today, when three worthy people were presented their rewards. All had worked for years for the same company, and loved people. All gave of themselves both to family and to those in need. And after so long of being unrecognized for the good they did, they were rewarded.

The most amazing thing is that although all three were presented an all inclusive holiday with their families, and means to further their educations, the gift that most affected them, was a $5000 donation to a charity of their choice, in their name. These individuals longed to see others blessed. They ached to give more than they were able, and were so blessed by giving to others.

I was thinking today, that there are people in my life who serve like that. Every day working hard to provide for their families, to show love, to give life. People who sacrifice time to work at the food bank, to choose a lower pay to work with troubled teens. Those who spend hours preparing a home for an elderly mother in law, or bring children into their home to shower unconditional love over them. I thought of ones who sponsor children, who go on trips to build feeding stations, of those who babysit for free, or visit lonely ones in the hospital. I am a blessed girl to know so many givers.

I know sometimes it's exhausting. Sometimes it seems pointless. There is always another person with needs. We can't meet them all. It can be discouraging. But one at a time, we are making a difference.

I'm so proud of you.

And I have great news.

There is someone waiting to give you a reward too. He's been watching you as you worked. As you gave. As you sacrificed. He has seen your tears for others, and your love in action.

Your reward will be personal. Made for you. And it will begin with these words...

"Well done, good and faithful servant!"
