This year, as I was watching the kids (who now need no help at all), and took the picture of the finished product, I wondered about putting all those yearly pictures together. I could only find the last three years, but it was still fun to reminisce!
Here's 2009, We were in Edmonton, and the kids had fun with their Grandma Darlene, with a gingerbread train. When I look at Seth's head, I'm pulled into the vortex of the past. He had fallen that December, while chasing a little girl at church, and smashed his head open. That tiny wound made a lot of blood. The entire church service was dedicated to the Children's Christmas Concert, which I was in charge of, and my Dad (who was attending our church to see the kids) ended up taking Seth and Ryan to the ER. Halfway through the concert, I had a note delivered to me saying that Seth was fine, and would be back soon. One of the nicest gifts my Dad ever gave me was that peace of mind!! :)
The Gingerbread or 2010 was created during one of the most violent windstorms we've ever had. The power was out, and we needed some things to do. I think it was actually only November! Lol! We decorated by emergency lamp light, and it was quite an experience. The forests were ripped apart, but we were safely together and creating something beautiful!!
The finished product! And my cute little grublets!! Man I love them!! :)
I always have to take the picture quick- because we start to eat it right away! I used to make them wait at least a day, but really, we create, and then we enjoy! Too much fun!!
Thanks for coming along memory lane with me.
