Greyhound Angels....

So, after that other post, I was visiting with Manny, and she said she thought I was going to write about another angel on the Greyhound bus. This story is too good to pass by, so I'll share it now.

I was taking Avery on her first bus trip to Dawson Creek to see Ed and Manny. I'd spent the night before the trip at Ryan's parents house in Edmonton and Ryan's Dad was picking us up early the next morning to hit the bus station. That morning as I tucked Avery into the car seat I fell through their glass coffee table, cutting my arm and making a big mess. Had to wake them up before taking off in a rush.

When I got to the station and got settled on the bus, I began taking inventory and realized that I had left all of the bottle nipples at Ryan's Mom's house. They reverse and then you can seal the bottle. I had extra bottles and formula for Ave, but no nipples, as they were all left behind in the fridge.

I grabbed Ave and went running out of the bus. Got my luggage back out of the underside and cheked through it. Nope, no bottle nipples.

Then we went for a run to the little concession and the A&W in the bus station. Nothing. Not even a powerade bottle that I could try to get her to drink from. Oh man. I was about to miss the bus, so we went running back and climbed on.

As I sat there, freaking out, all I could picture was a 6 hour trip with a very tired and thirsty baby girl, and a lot of grumpy passengers all around me. I scanned the bus, but no one had a child of any age, let alone a baby.

I started praying for the trip as the bus started up and began to back out of it's spot.

Suddenly it stopped, as someone was banging on the bus door.

The door opened, and in walked a young lady with a baby. Hope!!! When she was seated, I got up and walked back to her. She looked up at me and I stammered out my plea -

"I know this sounds crazy, but I brought formula for my baby, but I left all of the bottle nipples at home. I have the bottles, but no nipples. I was wondering if you might have one that I could use for the trip." Gulp. How stupid can one person feel?

What happened next was nothing if not proof that God loves me.

The girl reached into her bag, and pulled out a baggie FULL of bottle nipples. Sooo wierd!! Who travels around with a bag of bottle nipples???

So she passes one to me, and says that I can keep it.

I thank her and away I went, back to my little one.

That is a really great story! And so many times, we just don't see what "miracle" really did just happen!
