Recovered already!!

I tell ya, yesterday was one crazy day at the dentist. As you may remember, I was going in to have tooth pulled. Well, I guess the roots were all curved in,which is a bit of a problem because they can't just pull the tooth straight out. So they had to cut it into pieces, and tried to wiggle it out bit by bit.

Wierd hearing your tooth break in your mouth!!

When Avery was a baby, she could fit her whole fist in her mouth, which I thought was an amazing party trick, (haha), but yesterday, I had FOUR hands in my mouth at the same time, and none of them was mine!!

Anyway, I had a luck of the draw with a chatty dental assistant, who told me how "all they have to do" is jam the tooth back and forth hard enough- to break the bone in your jaw that surrounds the roots. Then I got to see bits of that bone still attatched to the tooth that they pulled from my mouth.

Although I was frozen and couldn't feel the work on that tooth, I could feel my bottom lip where the dentists tools kept threatening to bust it open. Also, cracked the side of my mouth open from holding it open so far.

At one point the dental assisant had her hands on both of my cheeks, holding my down while the dentist yanked. Then the hole was so big they had to stitch me up!! Wierd seeing a needle and thread go in and out of your mouth!!

So... does it sound scary??? Actually, while all of the above is true, I had a nice visit with the dentist and was in good spirits the whole time. I think I'm a pretty good patient, as I wait to do all of my whining on my blog!! Haha!!

Anyway, for a few hours afterwards it bled like a stinker, and hurt enough that I noticed, but then it was fine. Today I am a little achy around the teeth, but it's much better than I thought it would be after all that yanking. No swellilng or bruising, either. Pretty lucky girl, I'd say.

Also, baby is kicking up a storm still, so I'd say s/he is fine!! I did find out that the reason they don't do freezing in the third trimester is because the drug they use to freeze your mouth can induce labor!! Ahhhh. Good reason!!

So, hugs to all of you!! God bless, and Goodnite!!

*hugs* you're a brave girl. Remember when you lived here and we discussed the fact that it had been 10 years since I went to a dentist....I STILL haven't gone to one.

This may be a very dumb question, but what happens now? Do you replace the tooth with an impant or just have a hole? Curious minds (at least mine) want to know.
