I do know that some gifts can be learned, and practiced, so I decided to give painting a whirl and see what God could do with willing hands. What fun! Of course there are a million things wrong with the paintings, but it was a first attempt (I did all four in one long night that passed really quickly), and I am still pleased. Plus, it's good to have kids who tell you how great you are at painting!! Lol.
Thought I'd share the work with you. Firstly, I had to sew Seth a stocking, being that it's his first Christmas and he didn't have one. Gabe helped me choose the fabric. We chose fish since Seth can spend an hour in front of the tank enjoying watching them.

Gabe wondered aloud if maybe he could use Seth's stocking one year (if you don't know Gabe, he's a fish lover too!). I decided to surprise him and whipped up a second stocking while he was at school. Don't they look cute?

Then on to the painting...be easy on me, this is really a first effort. Also, the colors, for better or worse, are not quite real, as they were taken with low light. You can still get the idea.

In other news, my parents invited Ryan to their churches Christmas banquet last night for our 12th anniversary. (YAHOO!!) It was a really wonderful time. Good company, Great food, and a wonderful speaker. Really encouraging and really needed! Manny came to watch the kids, so I could relax and enjoy! Thanks Manny!
Anyway, yes, it's still busy, but full of fun and wonderful things! We are keeping our spirits up and hopes high. God bless, all!

Char,
I totally love your paintings! Especially the one on gentleness with the girl in the field. So beautiful!
It's been a long time, but I used to enjoy doing similar projects. If my pictures didn't have a scripture on them, it seemed incomplete. It's so nice to share God's word with an inspiring image. I hope you'll post more sometime!
Love, Tanya
First of all, I love water colors, and I love painting in water colors, those are beautiful, you did a great job, they're unique and pretty and relaxing to look at.
The stockings are awesome too!
I too might be calling for a piece of your art soon!!! LOVE them!!
Glad you and Ryan were able to have a good night out together last night!!! Happy Anniversary!!
