Guess What??

I'm a business-woman and I love it!!

For someone who is not particularly administratively gifted, this is quite a surprise. Mom was over last Sunday (our Anniversary) and mentioned that she had a business idea for us. Did she ever! We jumped on it and I spent the week on the phone, researching and asking questions. Calculating costs and balancing the budget. By Monday it'll all be done!!

So... you want to know what we're doing? If you know where we live, you know that we are in a bit of industrial chaos. The lumber industry is in trouble and people are having to leave town to find work. The real estate market is total nothingness, as no one is looking or buying, so people are stuck with homes that they have to leave empty indefinitely.

We are offering a service where we do a daily walk through of these vacant homes. Checking that the furnace is running, checking on the pipes, to hopefully prevent freezing, and just to catch anything wrong that may occur. We are not a security company or property managers. We don't show the home or fix anything, we simply call the owners and alert them to anything awry. This is something that I believe will serve our community well until the industry picks up again! I am really excited. Yesterday I was picking up my business license and met the mayor. She was excited about the business and excited about my enthusiasm for our community. That was super awesome!!

I had some great ideas from friends and got a special 'business phone number' with it's own special ring, so we know it's a business call and can answer accordingly. Love that!! Also, Got the ad on the radio starting Monday. The business cards will be ready on Monday as well, and away we go!! May God bless us in this new endeavor!!
