I had the pleasure of taking Gabe and some of his classmates to release thier 'pet' fish today! The class had been raising Kokanee right from eggs throughout the school year, and finally it was time to set them free!
The conservation officer/fish and wildlife guy? was great, and the kids enjoyed thier time.
First they did some trivia and review, and then they took turns releasing 'thier' fish. (randomly scooped into cups for them).
Here's Gabe bringing his little guy down to the water....
And saying goodbye....
Then they had some fun discovering and identifying different bugs that a kokanee would enjoy eating!! Right up Gabe's alley!!
In all, I was glad I got to go, love that boy, and I LOVE that he gets to do these things that encourage his love for the outdoors and all God's creatures!!
