Well today my daily cry was for good reason. Gabe's lizard Rocky (the anole, his favorite) died yesterday and this morning Ryan told him. No, I wasn't crying for the lizard, but for my poor broken hearted boy. He was crushed. It is so awful to not be able to do anything. We prayed together, and hugged lots, but he ended up staying home from school as he just couldn't get himself 'together' enough for me to send him in good conscience.
I hate that part of being 'mommy', but at the same time, there would be no one better than me and God to comfort my sweet son when he needs it. If you're the praying type, he could use a little love today, and I could use a dose of wisdom!! If you're not the type, pray anyway- He hears us all!!! lol.
I am so thankful that I have a Father that knows all, Someone who even though it's hard for a mother to believe- loves my son even more than I do. One who can heal. Who can bring peace. I am so blessed.
In other news, we are still getting dumped on like crazy. yesterday I spent an hour and a half shoveling snow for the kids to have a fort. It turned out well, and they enjoy playing in it!!

aww my poor sweet boy! He has such a loving, tender heart. My girls and I speak about the circle of life and how we are all part of it, which means that sometimes people and animals die. We keep them close to our hearts by remembering how we love them and how they made us feel good and reciting our memories, big or small. It's a long process, a child's grief isn't a linear process, and their lack of abstract thinking makes it difficult for them to process. Just lots of love. You're an amazing mommy.

I was parent helper in Gabe and Caden's class this morning and was sad to see him away today!
Avery told me what happened and when I told Mrs. Abdai..it was like she totally understood how a little guy like Gabe would handle something like that!
