So... the story of the year has been that we've been having a bunch of preteens banging on our door, usually at 2:30 am, and then running away. Yeah, harmless pranks, except that it scares the crap out of us! Anyway, the last few times, Ryan has chased them down and taken pictures of them, threatening that he'd bring them to the police if they did it again.
So last night, they banged on the door, and a few minutes later came back and banged again. Ry took off after them in the van. They had thrown a slush at the door this time, which really made me mad! The neighbour and I called the police and they came over (too late, of course) to get the pictures. They recognized the kids and eventually found them.
Three of them gave full confessions and will have to write us a 500 word apology. One mother has volunteered her son to do chores for us. I don't know if we'll do that or not. It seems like maybe it would be an opportunity to help him out and make him feel better, but we'll see. Depending on the kid, I may not want him in my home or near my kids. How do you weigh the options?
The funniest thing? The two policemen were down in the basement with me, looking at Ryan's hockey stuff. I was trying to find Ryan and called a friend, while the police were right beside me I said to her "Is Ryan still there? I've got the cops in my basement looking at his hockey stuff". Uh Oh, did I say COPS? Ah well, they didn't cobber me with their nightstick, so maybe I was so cute and charming that they forgave my ignorance!! Haha!
Ah well, that's the night. Too funny. Hugs to you all, Char

I'm glad you have it resolved now, the last thing you need is another interuption on your sleep!

Iov Lo You ! xoxoxox ;)
What kind of parents let their kids out at that time of night anyhow? Grrrrrr. I'm glad they caught the little bas?!rds. Hopefully you guys will have peaceful nights now. Love and Hugs...Shannon.
Preteens? 2:30 AM? Where oh where are the parents? I guess that makes me sound old and grandmotherly. Hey, wait.... I am old and grandmotherly. I hate it when that happens.
Thats nice the mother volunteered her child to do chores. My question! What the (BEEP) is her child doing out at2:30 in the morning. She should be doing the chores and writing a 500 word letter to explain her parenting skill, as should all the other parents!!!
AHAHAHA! Who ever made the annoymous comment cracked me up!
I totally agree, hold parents responsible for actually preforming parenting duties! In fact, I'd so love to read such an essay from such a parent teeheee!
