I always hated the comedy chanel just because of it's catch phrase- "time well wasted". Who wants to be reminded that regardless of what you are watching on TV, basically you are just wasting time. how sad. In fact, most of our lives are wasted. TV, video games, internet, reading, the list goes on. Not to say that these things don't have a time and place, and I know, you can learn from a lot of them, but really. Unless you are doing these activities with someone, it is simply time wasted.
What is going to last? In the long run, if I was to have a week to live, would I run to the video store to get that new release that I wanted to see? Would I hop on ebay to buy just one more thing? Would I log on and have another game of online poker, to try to get into a tournament?
hardly.
I would get on the floor and play with the kids. I would hug my husband, friends, parents, and pretty much anyone else I could. I would sit in the sun and pray for everything I could think of. I would tell people what I thought of them, and thank them for what they'd done for me.
So... now that I know that... what am I gonna do? Am I gonna go upstairs where the kids are, plop on the couch (I have a killer headache) and grab the novel that I am in the middle of? Am I gonna stay here at the computer and check my friends blogs?
or...
Am I gonna go sit in the sun and draw on the sidewalk with the kids? Take them for a walk to the post office and talk and chat with them the whole way about anything they want to talk about?
Hmmm.... I gotta go.
