Hello Again

Well, not much going on here. Once again we've been reminded that God is taking care of us. It shouldn't be a surprise, but sometimes you just don't know how it's gonna happen.

The kids are looking forward to this weekend as we are shopping for our 'Christmas Shoeboxes'. I love the good that it brings out in them to see how fun it is to give, and to develop generosity and an understanding of their wealth in a global comparison. I've caught them a few times making comments about us being 'poor' and realize once again that Ryan and I will have to be more careful with our words. We don't call ourselves poor, but Avery is big enough to draw her own conclusions when we continuously tell her that no, we will not spend our money on _____, we will be using it for more important things. I actually think it's been good for them to hear NO, as they are pretty spoiled! :)

I am looking forward to coffee with a new friend this morning, and I'm hoping for another sunny snowless day. Yesterday was sunny and although it snowed, rained and hailed, the sun prevailed and the grass stayed bare!! Yipee! My wish is that for once we would not need snowsuits under the Halloween costumes!! Lol.

Well, I should get back upstairs, I left Noisy in his excersaucer and better go give him some loves!! God bless, all!

Hi Charley
I think we had the same weather yesterday, CRAZY wind and ouchie rain.
I say *no* to my kids a lot, when it comes to buying things, but they get allowance and they often save up for a toy or treat that they want. It's been a good lesson in quantifying money as well in making choices as to what to spend it on.
love ya!

Hi there,
I can't say I'm terribly sad that mine are too young to ask for things, (oh but I know that they will soon enough) Shawn and I were saying the other day that we are so cheap that we probably would say no most of the time even if we did have cash! Love ya lots,
C

Hey Lady,

Yup, money sucks. I think it's just plain wise to be careful with money and to tell your kids no sometimes, whether we "need" to say no or not. Matt and I watched the old version of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and I couldn't stand that really spoiled girl, whatever her name is. I soooo don't want Matt to end up like that.
You guys are doing well and are raising awesome kids!! Stay focused on what matters!
