Finally!! Selena came on, and of course the girls (thousands of them) went wild!! Emma held her ears, and Jessica and Avery were in shock that they sounded 'electrical' when they talked. Yes, our ears are not created for that level of shrieking.
In fact, I decided that each child (at least those in my care) should be taught the difference between the 'I'm cheering for you' scream- which is more of a 'WoooooHooooooo!!'- and the 'Oh my goodness I'm about to get stabbed by a stranger' scream, (a high pitched AAAAAAAAH) -which scares the crap out of everyone around you. Especially when it comes at a time where no one else is screaming!! Lol!!
Yes, Avery and Jess were the second type of screamers. My apologies to anyone sitting within five rows of us, in any direction!! :)
The songs were great, we knew almost all of them, and I think she sang every song from her new album.
The band was fantastic, and very fun.
I was a bit surprised by the lack of 'special effects', no pyrotechnics or hanging on wires, but being that most of the kids there had never seen a concert, they had no comparison and thought it was awesome. She did have some dancers, as seen above...
...and a couple of costume changes, which the girls enjoyed!
This is my favorite picture, (and by the way, I haven't edited these in any way at all),
and this was my favorite moment. The encore (which was fun to tell the kids about too), she came back to sing 'Who Says' (the song I posted yesterday), and 'Magic' which was her first ever musical release. It was fantastic, and exactly the perfect way to wrap her show.

Char...would mind printing these photos for me? We were 2 far away for my little camera to capture much besides blurs :) Laura would love to have a keepsake photo. Laura and I thought Selena was aweome also. I must agree vehemnently that the wait for her to come on was way too long condidering the age group of the crowd...Laura was almost too tired, but she got a second wind. My only negative comment would have to be about her first outfit...to call it "scanty" would be almost an understatement. Considering the positive messages her songs have, I was a bit surprised that she would portray this image to thousands of impressionable young girls. Was it just me, or did yo think the same?
Yes, I can print them, Rose. I don't know how they'll look quality wise, but it's something! :)
And yes, I was shocked by her very short skirt. Also didn't love the jogging suit/tiny top outfit.
I was wondering how much of it is that she must be dying of heat, dancing under the lights.
Anyway, I second your sentiment.
Very cool!!
