This will be our Christmas picture this year.
I am annoyed.
There wasn't going to be one at all, but here's the last minute throw together that we attempted tonight.
SOOO...
Does everyone have to have their eyes open?
Does it matter than one or more kids are in their jammies?
Does it matter that I look like I spent the day at the dentist and am now on painkillers?
Does it matter that Gabe looks like he's about to break into Russian dance?
Or that Emma's hair is naturally turned into dreadlocks?
Does it matter that Avery hates every picture of her, especially when she's sitting at the front and looks (in her words) -huge?
That Seth thinks we actually want him to close his eyes and grin like the Cheshire cat?
That Ryan blinks every time there is a flash, and doesn't like to look 'squinty'?
Does it matter that people are not actually arranged in a pleasant way?
In front of something that's not distracting?
Yep. This is our Christmas picture this year.
Gotta love it.
Or cry.
P.S. Most of you won't be getting one. Lol- two sets of Grandparents, and three Great Grandparents. The rest will just have to wait! This will NOT be on fridges across Canada! :)

All I see is a beautiful family in front of a fully decorated Christmas tree!
Although that bright spot in the middle of Ryan's forehead looks an awful lot like a target...
I love those sweet smiling faces. I know that as a photographer, you see the flaws more clearly, and I'm sure it can be a source of annoyance knowing it isn't as your usual work. I'm sure everyone will just be glad to be able to post it on their fridges and love on you guys every time they see it!
I love the picture too. Most of what you said I would NEVER had noticed unless you told me, which you did. LOL! Our Christmas picture includes a summertime picture (no Christmas in sight) and one child has a Cheshire smile, and one is looking blankly into the horizon. Finally, we have the big finish with a tongue sticking out. It was the best one we had out of (seemingly) thousands of takes this summer. I don't have the heart to make one more attempt this year. Oh, and I put it on a card and gave it to ALL our church congregation. If nothing else it reminds them that we are HUMAN. ha!
I promise that one day you will look back on your blog (and this photo) and smile. Your family is beautiful...not perfect...which is awesome! It's always an easier task to recognize that "outside the box", but extremely frustrating for the mamas (myself included) who want a pretty picture! Cherish your family's personality.
