Groan....

I could have sworn it was a monday!! but this graphic says it just right!! After a long night up with kids (doesn't happen often, other than this new babe), I woke to a bunch of phone calls from Canfor. That would be Ry's work. Finally we connected and the poor guy told me that he'd somehow lost the keys to the van.
To those of you who don't know this, we only have ONE set of keys for the van. It came with just one key, and we just hadn't gotten another. You can't just copy it, you have to go to the dealership. Anyway, we talked to a guy in Prince at the dealership and he said if we sent a copy of our vehicle registration(of course locked in the van), and copy of our drivers license, he could look up the van, make a couple keys and send them up on Greyhound. A setback, but do-able.

Mom came over and bailed me out since I had a doc appt at 9, and no car and nowhere to put Em. She stayed with the kids and out I went. The doc appt was fine, and everything is right on schedule.

The trip to the insurance place took longer, but I ended up getting everything I needed. An hour later I got a call from the service guy. He says 'bad news...'. GRRRRREEEEAAAAAT!!!! Turns out (as I already knew) we have anti-theft protected keys, meaning they are coded for our van only. This is to prevent someone from taking your keys, making a copy and then stealing your van. The dealership can make a copy, and it will open the van door, and start the ignition for about 5 seconds before it shuts down. To program the key for the van, they need the van at their service place. In Prince. Ahhhhhhh!!!

Sooo... options... we can tow it to Prince,-huge $$$$,
...we could rent a dolly and get dad to pull it to Prince, but you have to go to Prince to get the dolly which means two full trips back and forth....gas $$ and the rental cost...
or.... we can do nothing but pray until Ry can go back in tonight and look again. Maybe by some miracle someone will find and turn in his keys.
...Oh yeah, we could also put in a police report saying that someone stole the keys and then our roadside plus plan will pay for it. But we have no idea if someone stole them, and it's not that likely.

The poor guy is stressed and feeling awful. In the long run, it'll work out even if it's lots of money, but in the meantime it's just more stress!!!

God bless, all, and please, tell me your day has gone better than mine!!!

I'm praying for you Char. We only have one set of car keys too. I'm sending Jarrett to the store tomorrow to get copies, after reading of your turmoil. I pray he doesn't lose them between now and then. He's the KING of losing keys. My heart goes out to you. Love...Shannon.
