Shopping for baby!!!

Thank You DAWN!!!!

What a great time yesterday, driving to Prince with Dawn, visiting and singing and SHOPPING!! Usually I'm rushing her around watching the clock, but this time I had no watch on, and I think she may have been waiting for me!! It was wonderful. I had four big items on the list....

1. A Wayne Gretzky legends 'action figure?' for Ry. (Wayne is holding the stanley cup and he's in Oiler's colors, so it was hard to find.) Dawn (my short friend) finally spotted it way up high where we figure someone was trying to hide the last one!! Good job Dawn!! I think I could have bought anything I wanted just because we found that Wayne!! lol.

2. Boots for Gabe. This was tricky too, cause every store has rubber boots and sandals now. (not really appropriate for snow up to your thighs!!) Finally Dawn (again, what a good shopper she is) found the clearance section with boots, and I stumbled upon 'pirates of the carribean 'boots for him. They are a bit big, but will be much better than the one boot he has left until the snow thaws and we find the one that is buried outside somewhere!! Plus he thinks they're pretty cool!! They do have a skull and crossbones on them, you know!!

3. A diaper bag. I'd had the perfect one with Emma, so I had high expectations, but couldn't find anything to match it until Walmart, and guess what? It's the exact one we had last time!! I wish we could have gotten a different color, as we have friends with the same one (I think it only comes in navy blue), but I was thrilled to have it's practicality back! I love the front zip open part where you can see everything you might need!! And the back is a big open pouch for blankets, spare outfits, etc. AND it's a backpack, so you don't always have it falling down your arm!! Woo hoo!! Good buy!!

4. A playpen. We have never had a new playpen for any of the kids, and have always felt very blessed by those we used and borrowed. But this time, I knew from experience that we'd be using it for years to come!! And probably longer for visiting friend's babies!! So... we looked and looked but again, couldn't beat Walmart!! I liked the browns in this one, although Ryan's comment was 'BROWN???".I didn't ask him what that meant, just reminded him that it was the best deal. Also, I am excited because I plan to leave the playpen set up in the living room for the first month or so when baby comes. This one has a handy change table and pockets for diapers, wipes, etc. so I won't be up and down the stairs for every bum change!! Let's hope it all goes as planned, eh?
